Unpainted concrete and asphalt should be separated.
Painted concrete/asphalt should be tested for lead.
If concrete/asphalt is lead free, the material should be separated.
Metal should be separated.
White Good -- (Appliances) accepted at all SRC’s and the Transfer Station.
Scrap Tires -- accepted at Transfer Station. (on-road tires only).
Batteries -- take back to Auto Parts store for refund on next purchase or to the Transfer
Station.
Oil -- accepted at Dillsboro and Cashiers SRC. (Used motor oil, hydraulic fluid, etc.
No gasoline).
Swap Shop -- located at Dillsboro and Cashiers SRC, accepts things that are no longer
useful but still can be used by other people. If someone sees an item of
interest in the swap shop, all that is needed is for the item to be loaded up.
